Sophomore Gabriel Rodriguez of South Temecula Track Club, representing Great Oak High, won the boys 5-kilometer rising stars and open race at the inaugural Nike Cross Regionals California at Woodward Park in Fresno. Rodriguez clocked 15:58.8 to improve on his effort of 16:07.5 from Oct. 9 at the ASICS Clovis Invitational, leading five scorers in the top 30 for South Temecula Track Club in a 48-102 victory over Agoura Hills XC.
